Introduction
The Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (Act No. 52 of 1984), was enacted by the Parliament of India in 1984 to regulate veterinary practice across the country. This legislation established the framework for the creation of Veterinary Councils in each state, with the primary responsibilities of maintaining registers of veterinary practitioners and ensuring adherence to professional standards. The Uttarakhand State Veterinary Council was established on 02 September 2004 to fulfill these objectives within the state. The Council’s primary source of funding is currently the Government of Uttarakhand. Prior to 2017-2018, the Council received financial support through a joint funding mechanism: 50% from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, and 50% from the Government of Uttarakhand under the “Professional Efficiency Development Programme.”
The Uttarakhand Veterinary Council is a statutory body constituted under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984. Its regulatory body comprises of 11 members:
- Elected Members: Four members are elected by veterinary practitioners registered with the Uttarakhand State Veterinary Register.
- Government Nominees: Three members are nominated by the Government of Uttarakhand.
- Ex-officio Members:
- Heads of veterinary institutions (if any) within the state.
- Director of Veterinary Services of the State.
- Registrar of the State Veterinary Council.
- Nominated Member: One member is nominated by the Uttarakhand Veterinary Service Association (if any).
Objectives of the Uttarakhand State Veterinary Council:
- To maintain a comprehensive register of all veterinary practitioners practicing in the state of Uttarakhand.
- To regulate veterinary practice within the state of Uttarakhand in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 and its associated rules and regulations.
- To establish and uphold high standards of professional conduct, ethical behaviour, and etiquette among veterinary practitioners.
- To provide expert advice to the Government of Uttarakhand on all matters related to veterinary practice and education.
- To ensure the effective implementation of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 and its associated rules and regulations within the state.
- To continuously strive to improve the professional efficiency and competence of all registered veterinary practitioners in Uttarakhand.

To utilize the Uttarakhand State Veterinary Council to provide a legal, ethical & scientific approach for holistic development of the Animal Husbandry Sector in Uttarakhand.
Mission
- To enhance the ethical standards and professional conduct of veterinary practitioners in Uttarakhand.

- To actively promote the “One Health” approach – recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health – within Uttarakhand.
- To serve as a comprehensive legal & ethical platform for all veterinarians in Uttarakhand, including private practitioners, retired professionals, and other stakeholders engaged in Animal Husbandry Field.
- To leverage information technology to drive growth and innovation within the Uttarakhand Animal Husbandry sector.
- To showcase and amplify the valuable contributions of veterinarians to the socio-economic development of Uttarakhand.
- To foster self-employment opportunities within the animal husbandry sector through skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
- To facilitate continuous professional development for veterinarians in Uttarakhand through effective implementation of Continuing Veterinary Education Programs (CVEP).
- To provide timely access to the latest advancements in veterinary science and technology through the Continuous Veterinary Training Programme.
- To connect all veterinarians in Uttarakhand through a robust online network, leveraging technology to enhance communication and collaboration.

Provisional Registration Fee
- Provisional Processing fee : Rs. 250
New Registration Fee
- New Registration Registration fee : Rs. 25

Renewal Fee
- Renewal Processing fee : Rs. 1000
- Late fees after expiry of Renew date on that Financial Year
- No Fine for only 01 month after expiry Date
- Within 03 month of Expiry date or End of Financial Year whichever is First- Rs 500.00
- After 03 month of Expiry date to 06 Month or End of Financial Year whichever is First- Rs 1000.00

Restoration Fee (On Removing of Name of Veterinary Practitioner from SVPR Register after End Of Financial Year that 31st March of Every Year)

Interpretation
In these Terms:
- “Organization” means Uttarakhand Veterinary Council
- “Council” means Uttarakhand Veterinary Council
- “Members” means the members of the Organization.
- “Services” means all services provided by the Organization to the Members.
- “Terms” means these terms and conditions of service provision.
Application
- These Terms apply to all contracts for the services provided by the Organization to its Veterinarian Registered in SVPR
- Any amendment, alteration, waiver, or cancellation of these Terms shall be binding on the Organization only if confirmed in writing by the Organization.
- The Members acknowledge that no employee of the Organization has the authority to make any representation, warranty, or promise concerning the Services beyond what is explicitly stated in these Terms.
Fees
- 3.1 Fees for services are determined at the time of Council General Body Meetings and are subject to change in council meeting without prior notice

- Payments to the Organization must be made in full without any deductions or discounts
