Camp and seminar for Equine owners, organised at Hanuman Chatti, the main stop on the Yamunotri Yatra route in Block Naugaon,District Uttarkashi
For the celebration of three years of “Bemisaal Karyakram” of Uttarakhand government and the upcoming Yamunotri Dham Yatra, a camp and seminar was organised for the health check up of horses and mules and for horse and mule owners in collaboration with Animal Husbandry Department Uttarakhand and National Equine Disease Research Center, Hisar, Haryana, at Hanuman Chatti, the main stop on the Yamunotri Yatra route in Naugaon block, Uttarkashi district by Senior Veterinary Officer Naugaon Dr. Anoop Nautiyal, District Uttarkashi.
In the seminar, the Chief Guest, Hon’ble MLA Yamunotri Shri Sanjay Dobhal called upon the livestock farmers to take maximum benefit from the camp organized for the prevention of diseases in their animals and Also, the cattle owners were assured that the problem would be solved soon by holding talks at high level for arranging insurance for their horses and mules. In the program, special guest Mr. Ajveen Pawar thanked the Animal Husbandry Department and Equine Disease Research Center, Hisar for organizing the camp. In the camp, blood samples of 100 horses and mules were collected for testing and deworming medicine, mineral mixer and medicine kit for prevention of other diseases were distributed to 132 mules.In the program, Dr. Rakesh Singh Negi, Chief Executive Officer, ULDB, gave information about the Chief Minister State Livestock Mission Scheme run by the Animal Husbandry Department.Dr. Kailash Uniyal, President, Veterinary Council of Uttarakhand provided high-quality stomach tube to Hanuman Chatti Veterinary Hospital for the upcoming Yatra and he also gave suggestions to organize such programs in future for the benefit of horse owners.In the program, Dr. Satish Joshi, Joint Director General Administration, provided detailed information on the main diseases of horses and the importance of sterilization.
Special support was given in the camp by Dr. Anmol Nautiyal, Dr. Bishan Rana, Dr. Rohit Singh, Shri Jagdeep, Shri Kailash etc.
Equine disease control and horse keeper training orientation program
On 11.03.25, an equine disease control and horse keeper training orientation program was organized in village Khaladi, development block Purola district Uttarkashi. This program was organized by Animal Husbandry Department Uttarakhand in collaboration with NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER FOR EQUINE-ICAR Hisar.
In this program, along with horse treatment, blood samples and nasal swab samples were also collected for testing. Apart from this, information on horse maintenance and management was also given to the horse keepers.Dr. SC Joshi, Joint Director, Dr. Bishan Rana, Dr. Nitish Bisht, Shri Shrichand and President of Neelkanth Horse Welfare Committee, Shri Guru Prasad and Diwan Singh Rawat participated in the program.
During the program, 82 horses were tested and material was distributed to the horse owners. This program proved to be very useful for the horse owners and helped in solving their problems.
Under the chairmanship of District Magistrate, Dehradun, multipurpose camp was organized in Tyuni
Today, on 20 March 2025, a multipurpose camp was organized in Tyuni by the District Administration Dehradun under the chairmanship of District Magistrate, Dehradun, in which animal medicines were distributed to fifty regional livestock farmers by setting up a departmental stall under the direction of Dr. Vidyasagar Kapri, Chief Veterinary Officer.Under the SLM scheme, a loan of Rs. 6.75 lakh was recommended to a cattle farmer for a scheme of 10 cows and the regional cattle farmers were given information related to vaccination of animals, making KCC and departmental schemes.Dr Manjit Singh (Senior Veterinary Officer Chakrata), Dr Manas Arora (Veterinary Officer Tyuni), Dr Rajveer (Veterinary Doctor 1962) and other staff were present in the camp.
